Clean Label Raw Material Spotlight: Nu-BIND
Today, savvy consumers have begun to see the connection between food and dietary supplements and are now looking for dietary supplements to share the same clean ingredient labels currently found on foods.
Our partners at RIBUS have brought to the market several clean label excipients that serve as alternatives to synthetics previously considered vital in making tablets and capsules. These ingredients work as alternatives and functional solutions for conventional and certified organic products that improve production efficiencies and allow for clean label declarations.
Their newest addition to the portfolio, Nu-BIND, is designed to act as a natural alternative to synthetic and plasticized binders. Made up of guar gum, gum arabic, agave fiber, rice hulls and agave syrup, Nu-BIND works as a binder and takes the place of the following synthetic ingredients: Hydroxy-Propyl-Cellulose (HPC), Polyvinyl-Pyrrolidone (PVP), Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC), Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), pregelatinized starch and gelatin. Nu-BIND is certified organic and is also a flowable powder, making it ideal for blending with other powders.

Nu-BIND is just one of the clean label products Paragon is using from RIBUS. Other include: Nu-MAG, a binder and alternative to magnesium stearate; Nu-FLOW, an alternative to anti-caking agents including silicon dioxide, tri-calcium phosphate or talc. substrate for flavors and colors.
